The purpose of this book is to help aspiring and professional bassists expand their ability to create coherent and meaningful solos. Although the bassists main function is as a member of the rhythm section, in contemporary jazz the accompanying bassist should be able to solo on a tune with authority, clarity and feeling.
The exercises in this book are comprised of written concepts for soloing followed by a short musical example of the idea presented.
